About the Theos Internship

Theos has run a successful internship scheme for more than 15 years, with interns going on to excellent roles within academia, the civil service, the arts, and Christian ministry; while some have gone on to research or communications roles within Theos.

Thanks to a generous legacy left to us by Mary Begg, we’re relaunching the scheme. The Theos internship provides invaluable insight and experience to talented thinkers, interested in entering the world of religion in public life.

Theos is a religion and society think tank that seeks to create a world in which Christian ideas about human flourishing can help answer some of the biggest questions society is asking today: from AI to isolation, from religious education to social cohesion; from relationships to political engagement.

By taking part in one of our nine–month paid internships, you’ll have the opportunity to help deliver stand–out content across our printed, digital and social media platforms, communicating our research in creative and innovative ways to the wider public.

The role requires someone motivated by their interests and experience to demonstrate that Christianity has much to offer for the common good.

Contributing to the wide–ranging work of Theos, through communicating our research on our social media channels, assisting in our public engagement and events, and carrying out tasks to assist in our research, as well as contributing to the team’s discussions around religion and public life.

Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours)
Duration: 9 months
Salary: London Living Wage

Testimonials

Theos Internship Testimonials

“My internship at Theos was the best thing that could have happened to me after my postgraduate studies. Amongst many other things, I developed the skills needed to move into a research position. I was also able to set my own development goals in line with my career plans and was incredibly well supported in achieving them. The internship has far exceeded my expectations and has made me more versatile and employable. More importantly, it has enriched me on a personal level, and I am deeply grateful to everyone at Theos for the time I spent on the internship.” – George Lapshynov

“My internship at Theos was my first experience of working in an office and doing formal research – and it was the ideal learning environment. Everyone was friendly and supportive, I was treated like a colleague, and the chance to write was excellent.” – Hannah Malcolm

“A culturally enriching time that compelled me to examine current affairs dynamically, and with creative eyes.” – Wendy Appenteng Daniels
